RESEARCH ASSISTANT AT THE JHA UNIT OF THE CENTRE FOR EUROPEAN
POLICY STUDIES
The Justice and Home Affairs Unit of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) has
one vacancy for “Research Assistant” from February 2008.
Context and Mission: The activities of CEPS’ JHA Unit revolve around three axes:
“Freedom, Security and Justice”. The JHA Unit analyses the changes which are taking
place in the EU in fields such as citizenship, immigration, asylum, borders, police and
judicial cooperation in criminal matters across borders. It heads the coordination of
CHALLENGE - The Changing Landscape of European Liberty and Security, a research
project funded by the Sixth Framework Research Programme of DG Research (European
Commission). The Unit participates in other European Commission projects focusing on
social inclusion of vulnerable groups in education and the JHA dimension of the
European Neighborhood Policy. It has also recently become a partner in two new
research projects dealing with immigration, citizenship and borders under the Seventh
Framework Research Programme of the European Commission.
